Privacy policy

Last updated: 15 September 2026

This policy explains what personal data we process about you, why, and what rights you have. It covers only the data you send us yourself — through the contact form, by email or by phone.

Who processes your data

The controller is Jakub Merjavý - meris, place of business Kpt. Nálepku 1200/15, 040 01 Košice-Staré Mesto, Slovakia, company ID (IČO) 57 200 351, entered in the Trade Register of the District Office Košice, trade register number 820-110387.

For anything concerning personal data, contact us at merjavy@meris.sk or on +421 940 214 096.

What data we process

We process only what you enter in the form, or tell us when you first get in touch:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your phone number (optional)
  • your company name (optional)
  • the content of your message

Purpose and legal basis

We use the data solely to reply to your message and to agree any work that follows. We do not use it for marketing and we will not add you to a newsletter.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. If no work follows, it is our legitimate interest in replying to a message we received, under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

How long we keep it

We keep your message and contact details for 5 years after our last contact, then delete them. If you become a client, we keep them for the duration of our work together and afterwards for as long as accounting and tax law requires.

Separately from that, Web3Forms automatically deletes its own copy of the submitted form after three years.

You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time — just write to merjavy@meris.sk.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data and do not pass it to third parties for their own purposes. Only these providers receive it, and neither the site nor our email would work without them:

  • Web3Creative (the Web3Forms service), India — delivers the contact form to our email address. It uses further sub-processors, chiefly Amazon Web Services and Cloudflare; its spam-filtering tools receive your IP address and email address.
  • Vercel Inc., United States — the hosting provider on whose servers this site runs.
  • Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland — operates the merjavy@meris.sk mailbox (iCloud Mail), where your message is delivered and stored.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Two of these providers also process data outside the European Economic Area: Web3Creative operates from India, and Vercel Inc. from the United States. The contracting entity for the iCloud Mail mailbox is Apple Distribution International Ltd., established in Ireland.

The transfers to India and to the United States are covered by the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses under Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914, which form part of the data processing agreements in place with both Web3Creative and Vercel Inc. The iCloud Mail mailbox is operated by Apple as a controller in its own right, under its own service terms.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use cookies. It stores nothing in your browser and reads nothing from it, and it uses no analytics or advertising tool — no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, nothing of that kind.

Fonts are served from our own server, so simply reading the site sends no request to any third party. The only connection off this site happens at the moment you submit the contact form yourself.

That is why there is no cookie consent banner here — there is nothing to consent to.

Your rights

In relation to your personal data you have the right:

  • of access — to find out what data we hold about you
  • to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
  • to have your data erased
  • to restrict processing
  • to data portability to another controller
  • to object to processing based on legitimate interest

If you are not satisfied

Please come to us first at merjavy@meris.sk — we reply within 4 hours on business days, and to a formal GDPR request within one month at the latest.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava, dozor@pdp.gov.sk.

Changes to this policy

If the way we process data changes, we will update this policy and change the date shown at the top of the page.
